When it comes to liquids, you'll often spot the world's stars frequently snapped sipping their favourite drinks. And these choices are not always so virtuous.

Find out who's drinking what, the health implications of their top tipples and get the lowdown on healthy alternatives in our Star sips slideshow.

Starbucks Frappucino

The lure of a whipped cream Starbucks Frappucino isn't confined to us mere mortals. The likes of Mischa Barton, Nicole Richie and Britney Spears seem to hold one of these calorific culprits as often as they do a glass of bubbly. Created with milk, synthetic cream and a generous dash of flavoured syrup, it's hardly surprising that the drink has on average 2000 kilojoules a pop. Even the light version has a fairly hefty 800 kilojoules.

Drew Barrymore opts for the unsweetened black iced tea, which even if you plump for the Venti option, still has zero calories. Those tea leaves are great antioxidants too.

Red Bull

With an impressive caffeine measure of around 80 milligrams per can, it's little wonder the stars turn to the rocket juice during a busy schedule. Lindsay Lohan is a fan (well, she had to get that energy somewhere). Keep in mind that each can isn't just a hefty injection of caffeine but of kilojoules too — each can has around 460.

Black coffee will give you the buzz you need or opt for a guarana juice — a natural source of caffeine that will stimulate the central nervous system.
