Barefoot runners can’t land on the heel, it’s too painful. Instead, they land on the mid- or forefoot.

With a stellar career in modelling, then founding one of New Zealand’s busiest talent agencies, 62 Models and Talent — this super-mum is on the go all day, every day.

How many hours a week would you spend on your own health and wellbeing?
Um, er, about two! It really depends on what’s happening in my life at the time. Under ‘normal’ circumstances I train twice a week with Brad Werner, my personal trainer. The only way I manage to squeeze this in is on the two days my kids bus to school.

What’s your never-fail pick-me-up?
My family keep things in perspective for me, and my friends make me laugh regardless of circumstances. These things, and a good blowwave!

New Zealand women should spend more time…
Feeling good about themselves.

New Zealand women should spend less time worrying about…
Not being French women.

Anika Moa

After releasing her first album in 2001, Ms Moa has played many sold-out gigs nationwide. This year she entered into a Civil Union with Azaria Universe. Congrats ladies!

What do you do to keep your energy throughout the day?
I like to sleep in, so as soon as I wake I just get in the car and begrudgingly drive myself to the gym. Then I can start the day.

Who do you admire for their dedication to looking after themselves?
My friend Anna Coddington is so healthy! She is very dedicated to keeping fit and eating organic food — and she works hard at her music.

New Zealand women should spend more time…
Loving themselves.

New Zealand women should spend less time worrying about…
How fat their bums look.

Samantha Hayes

TV3’s favourite redhead has a busy work schedule — either presenting or reporting daily — so time management and healthy lifestyle choices are a must for constant energy.

How important is a healthy lifestyle to you?
I try to consider health and wellbeing as part of my everyday routine — for example making sure I have a good breakfast of avocado on wholegrain toast, or making sure I walk to work instead of driving.

What’s most important to you at this point in your life — fitness, sleep or nutrition?
Nutrition — I’ve been vegetarian for 15 years, but recently became vegan. I think about food a lot! I’m always planning ahead. I think the internet was basically invented to share recipes.

New Zealand women should spend more time...
Reading books and watching nature documentaries.

New Zealand women should spend less time worrying about...
Silly little phobias like that their nose is too big, or their hair is “too” something.
