New laser destroys fat painlessly

Move over liposuction — scientists have invented a painless, surgery-free treatment which apparently zaps and destroy fat cells instantly.

The developers of the new technology, Erchonia Medical, claim their new FDA-approved Zerona laser can allow patients to drop two dress sizes in two weeks without amping up exercise, or following a radical diet, the UK's Daily Telegraph reported.

Clinical trials conducted for Erchonia Medical on 67 volunteers found that following a series of treatments with the laser, patients lost an average of 8.89cm from their waist, hips and thighs. The control group recorded a 1.72cm reduction.

In the treatment, which is growing in popularity overseas, the laser passes over the skin and raptures fat cells, which are then expelled from the body over a period of time.

"When the fat cells have reduced, the body naturally excretes the fat over time giving the patient proven results after around six treatments over two weeks," Erchonia said on their website, FindZerona.com. "This occurs during the body's normal detoxification process."

For the best results, six 40-minute sessions are required at a cost of thousands of dollars.

The results of the clinical trials were published in the journal Lasers in Surgery and Medicine.

US celebrities have reportedly used the treatment to slim down fast as, unlike surgery, the treatment is non-evasive and leaves no scars.

Miracle treatment or marketing hype? Time will tell.

Have your say: Would you spend thousands on zapping fat?

Hi is there a Zerona in NZ anywhere?
I have had 3 kids and yes I go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I eat healthy and still that tyre around the middle won't budge. A permanent non-evasive treatment like this would be great if money would allow. I feel that my family must come first and time for myself is being selffish. But i perservere and make an hour a day mine, just to feel good about myself.
Sh*t yes! Much more convenient and less time-consuming for busy people with busy lives! if I had the money I would have already booked this in too, as long as there were proven results I physically saw myself & wasn't just another one of this fat-melting hoax's...oh to be rich. I am an active person and excercise 4-5 times a week and enjoy it, it IS definately time-consuming though and this lazer thing seems like it will actually target your trouble spot's...where as in excercise you can't target every certain little spot.
I would definately spend the money . As like other woman, I have had children and find it difficult to loose the weight. I have a physical job.(I dairy farm) but it still hangs around.Literally.
yes be in doing this to help my weight
Yes I woul use that treatment if it was a lasting treatment and you wouldnt have to keep going back like beauty sessions. I have struggled with my weight for years and after having my daughter it has gotten worse. I exercise and eat right and it still gets me no where. I have an underactive motabolism so there is nothing that will help. Fat Zapping would be great and I would spend thosands for a lasting effect.
Sounds amazing. And easy too!
i would spend this on getting rid of fact as it is non evasive
I would do this.. after having 2 kids.. working and raising 2 kids plus my partner is studying I don't have the time or money to go tot he gym every few days.. If i had the money to do this I wouldn't give it a 2nd thought I'd already have booked my appointment...
People should just work it off, its not that bloody hard. XXXL to an L. Come on just get up and walk and put down the fork
